Measure underground gas leaks with Kiwa's Suction method

Every gas leak is one too many. Even though not every gas leak poses a direct safety risk, methane is a greenhouse gas and therefore contributes to global warming. Therefore, it is important to detect and reduce gas leaks as effectively as possible. To this end, Kiwa developed the Suction method on behalf of the European Gas Research Group (GERG), of which Kiwa has been a part for many years. To clarify how this new, accurate measuring method works, Kiwa made an explanation video.

Kiwa takes Hydrogen Table to French gas distributor GRDF

Kiwa’s Sjoerd Delnooz, Harald Ophoff, Mariël Hout and Sander Lueb recently visited the headquarters of Gaz Réseau Distribution France (GRDF) in Paris. Like Liander, Stedin and Enexis in the Netherlands, GRDF is responsible for the distribution of natural gas in France. Because France also considers hydrogen to be an important source of renewable energy, Kiwa showed about seventy GRDF employees the main differences between hydrogen and natural gas with the help of the Hydrogen Table.

Video: Combined certification ISO 9001, 14001 and 27001 at T-Mobile

Within three months towards recertification for the internationally recognized standards ISO 9001 (quality), ISO 14001 (environment) and ISO 27001 (information security). Kiwa and T-Mobile Netherlands recently achieved this in a compact process in which recertification against these three standards was combined.

Kiwa can take over your GMP+ certification from Bureau Veritas

GMP+ International has informed companies in the feed chain that the GMP+ license agreement with Bureau Veritas will not be renewed. The current license agreement expires on 15 July 2022. GMP+ certification will be continued by Kiwa when requested. Kiwa is a renowned expert in certification, verification, and auditing services for the agri, feed and food sector.

Kiwa accredited for ETSI EN 303 645 cybersecurity testing

Kiwa was recently accredited by the Dutch accreditation council RvA as the first Notified Body (NoBo) for testing and assessing the cybersecurity of IoT consumer products. By independently assessing the cybersecurity of 'smart' devices such as doorbells, thermostats, tv’s and lighting, manufacturers can ensure that consumers are less likely to become victims of cybercrime.

Smoke detectors will soon also be mandatory in existing buildings

As in many other European countries, from 1 July 2022, every home in The Netherlands must be equipped with smoke detectors on every floor. This obligation has been applicable to new-build homes since 2003, but will also apply to existing homes from this summer. Although smoke detectors are currently installed in three quarters of homes, millions of new smoke detectors will be purchased as a result of the new legislation. What should you pay attention to when purchasing such a device?

Revision ISO 27002: simplification and modernization

This standard contains the practical guidelines and control measures for management systems for information security (ISMS) that are inextricably linked to the information security standard ISO 27001.

A video update on one of the HyDelta hydrogen research work packages each week

HyDelta aims to take away the technical and scientific barriers that prevent a large-scale implementation of the hydrogen economy in the Netherlands. As one of the consortium members Kiwa takes care of several work packages in which the HyDelta programme is divided.
