The GRASP module (GRASP is the acronym for “GLOBALG.A.P. Risk Assessment on Social Practice”) is a voluntary module consisting of twelve control points and compliance criteria. Only producers who in turn have certification of an Integrated Farm Assurance (IFA) and/or Plant Propagation Material (PPM) norm can apply for this.

The GRASP Module is made up of Control points and Compliance Criteria (CPCC) which the producer has to abide by. Given that the GRASP module is voluntary, this does not involve passing or failing the module, but only indicates the level of compliance of each control point on the verification list of the assessment.

The requirements that major retailers set for the production of potatoes, vegetables and fruits increasingly include social aspects. To meet these requirements, you can utilize the GRASP module. GRASP, which stands for GLOBALG.A.P. Risk Assessment on Social Practice, is an additional module to the GLOBALG.A.P. standard and focuses on ensuring good working conditions and employment practices. The assessment includes aspects such as personnel and payroll administration, pensions and outsourcing of work.

Combination with GLOBALG.A.P. audit

When you inform Kiwa that you want a GRASP module assessment in addition to your GLOBALG.A.P. audit, we will schedule an appointment for this assessment. If possible, we will combine this with the GLOBALG.A.P. inspection. It is also possible to conduct the assessment at a different time, provided your company is already GLOBALG.A.P. certified.

GLOBALG.A.P. database

The result of the GRASP assessment is valid for one year and runs parallel to the existing GLOBALG.A.P. certificate. The assessment of a company on the GRASP module is not a checklist but rather a situational assessment. You will receive an assessment report for GRASP, which is also provided to the GLOBALG.A.P. secretariat. The assessment is also processed in the GLOBALG.A.P. database, making it visible to your buyers.
