Permeation and Chemical Compatibility of Polymers

Kiwa is your partner for engineering assessments and the corresponding tests. We can determine and prove the suitability of polymers in combination with conventional and unconventional gases and fluids and test under harsh conditions like raised temperature and high pressures.

We can conduct for instance permeation measurements with cryogenic gases on sheets, or permeation measurements of complete piping systems at high pressures (>250 bar) for conventional gases like CH4 and CO2, or renewable gasses like H2, determine the impact of hydrogen sulfide (H2S) exposure on your material over time, or assess the swelling of your liner material due to hydrocarbons or other chemicals.

You can find more specific information in this leaflet.

Kiwa has a wide range of analysis in the case of damage. Check out what we have to offer below.

  • Cybersecurity remains a hot topic, not only due to the increasing number of hacks and ransomware attacks but also from the perspective of regulators and the evolving legal framework in this area. European member states are currently preparing for the transposition of the Network and Information Security Directive 2 (NIS2) into national legislation.

  • Special treatment chemicals are often used to safeguard the quality of the water in swimming pools and hot tubs. These products must of course not lead to health risks. Manufacturers who want to demonstrate that their swimming pool chemicals have been tested and meet strict requirements can request a product certificate from Kiwa according to NSF/ANSI/CAN 50 'Equipment and chemicals for swimming pools, spas, hot tubs and other recreational water facilities'.
