The services of the Kiwa Metrology Laboratory, accredited LAT No. 052 by ACCREDIA, an Italian accreditation body, are aimed at all companies in the manufacturing industry, with a focus on the Automotive&Racing, Aerospace and Defense, Medical and Packaging sectors, which need to know and control the quality-recognized and reportable-measurements of their instruments.

The calibrations carried out by the Kiwa Italia metrology laboratory, under reference conditions (20°C), are such as to guarantee an uncertainty U(k=2) equal to a 95% confidence level, less than 2 μm, for micrometers with a measuring range from 6 mm to 200 mm, with size units from 0.001 mm to 0.01 mm.

Please note that ACCREDIA calibration of the smooth ring supplied with the micrometer is required, and Kiwa Italia can perform calibrations with uncertainty on diameter measurement of 0.5 μm and 0.1 μm on roundness measurement.

Requiring Kiwa Italia to calibrate three-point micrometers allows the company to obtain significant economic advantages because it avoids both the purchase of a large number of primary smooth rings and their periodic certification.
