Kiwa has recently joined the European Clean Hydrogen Alliance, committed to provide the market with the knowledge and expertise gained in the renewable energy production and hydrogen sector.
Hydrogen is a key factor to achieve the objectives of the European Green New Deal and Europe's transition to a zero-emission economy. In fact, thanks to its characteristics, it is able to contribute to a complete decarbonisation of transports, to a greater flexibility of the electricity grid and more sustainable industrial processes, further promoting the use of renewable energy sources.
Determined to contribute actively by bringing added value in the energy transition process, Kiwa has recently joined the European Clean Hydrogen Alliance, providing the market with the knowledge and expertise in the field of renewable energy and hydrogen production.
What does the European Clean Hydrogen Alliance do?
On the occasion of the New Industrial Strategy for Europe, presented by the European Commission in March 2020, the born of the European Clean Hydrogen Alliance has been announced, in order to accelerate the process of decarbonisation of the continent's industrial activities through the diffusion of low emission hydrogen technologies by 2030.
With this Alliance that brings together industry, national and local public authorities, civil society and other stakeholders interested in the implementation of the Energy Transition, the European Union reconfirms its global leadership in this field and its commitment to achieving climate neutrality by 2050.
The Alliance will play a crucial role in facilitating and implementing the actions of the new European hydrogen strategy, in particular its investment agenda, estimated at 430 billion euros until 2030, and supporting the development of a complete and accessible hydrogen value chain throughout the European Union. Specifically, resources and actors will be mobilized for the installation of at least 6 GW of renewable hydrogen electrolysers by 2024.
