Kiwa PVEL's Tenth Edition of the PV Module Reliability Scorecard
Kiwa PVEL is excited to announce the release of the 2024 PV Module Reliability Scorecard, marking the tenth edition of our annual report. This year’s Scorecard features 388 top-performing PV module models from 53 manufacturers, showcasing the best of what’s commercially available in solar technology. The 2024 Scorecard has the largest number of Top Performers than ever, reflecting a decade of dedication to quality and innovation in the solar industry.
The Scorecard collects all of the data and testing insights from Kiwa PVEL’s Product Qualification Program (PQP). The PQP is a suite of extended reliability tests design to go beyond certification to provide the data that matters for solar developers. Our PQP has seen significant enhancements in recent months, including new tests for ultraviolet-induced degradation (UVID) and adding a Top Performer category for our Hail Stress Sequence. These updates help to ensure that we continue to set the highest standards for PV module reliability, while also addressing critical challenges faced by the industry and helping manufacturers improve their products. We’re proud that the Scorecard has become an invaluable tool for the solar industry, accessed by thousands of users across the world.
And while there is much to celebrate, Kiwa PVEL’s cautions buyers to beware. Nearly two-thirds of manufacturers experienced at least one test failure, the highest percentage ever reported in the Scorecard.
