What is classified as NRMM and is subject to this Regulation?

- For example:
- Excavator
- Mobile crane
- Generators
- Hand held machinery

- Chainsaw
- Lawnmower
- Snow blower
- Small inland waterway vessels with a reference power greater or equal to 19 kW
- Locomotives and railcars
- Snowmobiles
- All-terrain vehicles (ATV)
- Side-by-side vehicles, such as Utility Task Vehicles (UTV)
- For example:
- For example:
The following vehicles or machines are not considered to be NRMM:
- Stationary machinery
- Sea-going vessels requiring a valid maritime navigation or safety certificate
- Large Inland waterway vessels (+20m in length)
not covered by directive 2019/1629 - The propulsion or auxiliary purposes of inland waterway vessels of a net power of less than 19 kW
- Watercraft as defined in directive 2013/53/EU
- Aircraft as defined Regulation 1321/2014
- Recreational vehicles, except snowmobiles, all-terrain vehicles and side-by-side vehicles
- Vehicles and machinery exclusively used or intended to be exclusively used in competitions
- Portable fire-fighting pumps as defined and covered by the European standard on portable fire-fighting pumps
The NRMM Regulation does not apply to engines for the propulsion of regular motor vehicles as referred to in the directive 2007/46/EC.
Also, agricultural/forestry tractors and motorcycles are out of scope, as they have their own applicable Regulations.
Engines for export to third countries and engines for use by the armed forces are not be subject to this Regulation.
