Relevant to owners of underground storage tanks. Also, this Evaluation Guideline is important for coating applicators certified to the requirements of Evaluation Guideline BRL-K790.

When is it necessary?

Owners of steel storage tanks for (bio) fuels and used oils can increase the durability of their tanks when these are protect against corrosion by means of an internal coating. Coatings complying with BRL-K779 meet these requirements. The long term experience with these coatings has resulted in increasing the re-certification period of such tanks from 15 to 20 years.
