Indoor Action becomes the First Independent Fitness Club to Qualify for FITcert Certificate in Europe
Arnhem Indoor Action Sports Center recently became the first independent fitness club in the Netherlands and Europe to qualify for a FITcert certificate, independently tested by Kiwa ISA Sport. In order to ensure that everyone can practice fitness sports safely and healthily, an independent assessment of safety, accommodations and instructors, among other things, is important. With the new European quality mark FITcert, fitness centers can now demonstrate that they are working to the highest quality standards.
"By achieving FITcert level 3, we're showing that we are doing everything possible to allow our visitors to exercise safely and healthily. The certificate makes this visible to the customer and gives them extra confidence in the quality of our services," said Michel de Boer, club manager at Indoor Action Arnhem. "Moreover, achieving the hallmark will be a nice reward for the steps that we have taken with our team in recent years and it gives us a nice guideline towards further improvements for the future."
The FITcert label was developed by the European trade association EuropeActive, managed by the Dutch Standardization Institute (NEN) and independently tested by Kiwa. With the hallmark, a fitness center can demonstrate that it operates in accordance with the quality requirements of EN 17229. The assessment covers the quality of the accommodations and instructors, safety, as well as membership contracts and anti-doping.
Certification against the FITcert label consists of four levels, allowing fitness facilities to work step by step toward the level that is maximally achievable or desired. Step-by-step certification also contributes to the principle of continuous improvement that EuropeActive wants to encourage with FITcert. After a positive audit, Indoor Action will receive the Level 3 certificate.
