GAR-update: withdrawal of EN 484:1997, EN 521:2006 and EN 14543:2005+A1:2007
Kiwa would like to inform you about the following date of withdrawal (DOW) of below standards:
- EN 484:1997 “Specification for dedicated liquefied petroleum gas appliances. Independent hotplates, including those incorporating a grill for outdoor use” (DoW October 2019) is replaced by EN 484:2019 (approved 15 February 2019)
- EN 521:2006 “Specifications for dedicated liquefied petroleum gas appliances. Portable vapour pressure liquefied petroleum gas appliances” (DoW October 2019) is replaced by EN 521:2019 (approved 15 February 2019)
- EN 14543:” Specification for dedicated liquefied petroleum gas appliances. Parasol patio heaters. Flueless radiant heaters for outdoor or amply ventilated area use”2005+A1:2007 (DoW January 2018) is replaced by EN 14543:2017 (approved 27 February 2017)
As you might know, it is mandatory for the GAR (Gas Appliance Regulation) that a product is in compliance with the essential requirements in such a way that it takes into account the state of the art, reasonably foreseeable use and current practice at the time of design and manufacture. For some appliance designs, the replacement of these standards by the new version and the passing of the DOW of previous version may be an indication of a change in the state of the art and current practice.
