Worldwide, there are a multitude of local grid connection guidelines and standards that must be complied with depending on the country.
Our employees are among the pioneers with > 10 years of experience when it comes to the international approval of grid-parallel self-generation systems. We are your contact for:
- Photovoltaic inverters
- Battery storage
- Hydroelectric power plants
- Wind converters
- Small wind turbines
- CHP's
- Grid monitoring relays
Worldwide, there is a multitude of local grid connection guidelines and standards that must be complied with, depending on the country. This is especially true for attractive markets such as Italy, Spain, Portugal, France, Greece, Eastern Europe, Australia, USA, India, Brazil and South Africa.
For the German market, we test and certify your self-generation plant following the applicable low and medium voltage directives:
- VDE-AR-N 4105 for self-generation systems on the low-voltage grid, incl. DIN VDE V 0124-100
- VDE-AR-N 4110 Technical Rules for the Connection of Customer Installations to the Medium-Voltage Grid incl. TR3, TR4, TR8 of FGW
- VDE-AR-N 4120 Technical Rules for the Connection of Customer Installations to the High Voltage Grid incl. TR3, TR4, TR8 of FGW
Grid Code Compliance (GCC)
There are also numerous standards and guidelines worldwide for the use of decentralised self-generation units and systems.
Under the grid connection guidelines of the various grid operators and associations, compliance with these guidelines is confirmed to ensure a smooth grid connection of the plants. GCC certification guarantees that grid connection negotiations are simplified to a considerable degree. We will be happy to support you, carry out tests in our laboratory in Kaufbeuren or directly at the manufacturer's premises.
EZA certification/system certification (according to VDE-AR-N 4110)
Following VDE-AR-N 4110, we issue type B plant certificates (simplified plant certificates) for all types of decentralised generation units. The FGW-TR8 guideline is also used as a certification programme, which confirms compliance with the VDE-AR-N 4110 rules for self-generation plants on the medium-voltage grid. The certification of the electrical properties of decentralised generation plants ensures the safe operation of the electricity grids while at the same time the share of renewable and decentralised energy generation is steadily increasing.
EZE certification (according to VDE-AR-N 4105, VDE-AR-N 4110 and VDE-AR-N 4120)
Our unit certification according to FGW TR8 covers all types of decentralised generation units. In addition to the proof of conformity based on the type test under FGW TR3, validation of the unit model is also carried out under FGW TR4. This certification programme serves to confirm compliance with the VDE-AR-N 4110 and VDE-AR-N 4120 rules for self-generation units on the medium-voltage grid and high-voltage grid. Certification of the electrical properties of decentralised generation units and systems ensures that your product is compliant with the grid connection rules and does not place an unacceptable load on the public power grid.
