The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) defines demanding environmental criteria for the entire ecological textile supply chain and also requires compliance with social criteria. It covers the processing, production, packaging, labelling, trade and distribution of textiles that consist of at least 70% certified organic fibres. Examples of end products with the GOTS seal: fibre products, yarns, fabrics, clothing, fashion accessories, fabric toys, home textiles, mattresses and bedding, textile hygiene articles.

With a GOTS certification, you implement globally recognised requirements for all manufacturing, transport and use phases of textiles that ensure the ecological status of textiles - from environmentally and socially responsible manufacturing to labelling. In addition, you create humane working conditions and compliance with sustainable minimum ecological standards are the basis for fair and ethical trade.

GOTS is considered the most important standard among textile certifications and enjoys a very high level of acceptance, both among manufacturers and retailers as well as consumers, as comprehensive criteria are covered in this certification. With only one certification, recognised in all main markets, textile processors and manufacturers are entitled to export their organic fibres and yarns.
