Strengthening Organic Enforcement: NOP-Import certificates

The USDA publishes the “New Final Rule” for the National Organic Program in the USA (kiwa.com), which requires all organic imports into the United States to be declared organic and accompanied by a NOP import certificate. This change will improve traceability and monitoring of organic imports into the United States, making fraud more difficult.

BioFach 2024 in Nuremberg

Labelling of non-retail containers and calculating the percentage of organic ingredients

The emergence of longer and more complex supply chains has made the need for more verification tools and methods necessary. The Strengthening Organic Enforcement (SOE) Final Rule requires that operations label nonretail containers with critical information that will help to prevent commingling of organic and non-organic products and contact with prohibited substances while supporting traceability and verification. The rule also clarifies how to calculate the percentage of organic ingredients in multi-ingredient products.

Kiwa Rostock, a leading name in water quality testing, has received award-winning certification from the Water Regulations Advisory Scheme (WRAS) as a recognised laboratory. This recognition demonstrates Kiwa Rostock's commitment to the highest water quality and safety standards. WRAS recognition means that the laboratory meets strict criteria of competence and compliance to submit reports that are recognised as evidence of compliance with the Water Supply Regulations. Kiwa Rostock complies with ISO/IEC 17025:2017 and can perform tests in various categories, including non-metallic materials in contact with drinking water.

USDA publishes New Final Rule for National Organic Program in the USA

In January of 2023 the USDA published a new final rule. It is a revision of the National Organic Program's (NOP) regulatory. The main focus lies on the SOE (Strengthening Organic Enforcement). UKCA- und CE-Kennzeichnung für Bauprodukte laufen in Großbritannien bis 30. Juni 2025 parallel Die britische Regierung hat die Anerkennung der CE-Kennzeichnung für Konformitätsnachweise von Bauprodukten offiziell bis zum 30. Juni 2025 verlängert.

30 Years of Kiwa BCS Öko-Garantie GmbH

Since its foundation in 1992 in Nuremberg, the then "BCS Öko-Garantie GmbH" has grown steadily and has been able to make a name for itself on the market with high-quality services in the organic certification of food processors and producers.

Kiwa BCS has been active in Saudi Arabia for many years, offering certifications according to the local organic standard OSKSA (Organic Standard of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia), among others. Kiwa BCS is also accredited in other countries of the MENA region and can offer various organic standards such as EU, NOP or JAS.

Further growth at Kiwa: MPA Dresden joins the Kiwa Deutschland Group

Hamburg/Dresden,July 15, 2022: On July 6, 2022, Thomas Huebler and Teresa Huebler, both managing directors of MPA Dresden GmbH, and Prof. Dr. Roland Huettl and Dr. Gero Schoenwasser, both managing directors of Kiwa Deutschland GmbH, signed the contract agreement in Hamburg. With immediate effect, MPA Dresden GmbH is a wholly owned subsidiary of Kiwa Deutschland Group.

Kiwa welcomes PI Berlin to the Kiwa Germany Group

Kiwa is pleased to announce that PI Berlin is now a wholly owned subsidiary of the Kiwa Germany Group. The agreement was signed between Kiwa Deutschland GmbH and PI Berlin last week in Berlin, Germany, by Sven Lehmann and Steven Xuereb, board members of PI Berlin, as well as Prof Dr Roland Huettl and Dr Gero Schoenwasser, both managing directors of Kiwa Deutschland GmbH.

UKCA marking - deadline extended to 1 January 2023

The new labelling obligation, the UK Conformity Assessment (UKCA) mark for goods placed on the market, has been postponed by the UK government. Companies will not be required to use the UKCA mark, which replaces the CE mark, until 1 January 2023.

The GLOBALG.A.P. Supply Chain Standard (CoC)
